Feeling nostalgic.

There's nothing like feeling stymied by circumstance that makes me nostalgic for the days when everything in the world seemed fresh and full of possibility; I've been too busy lately.

There are a number of us (my friends and I) who are mid-transition. I see ThyGoddess has left a cryptic farewell on her blog (which I trust is a good thing), and I've been wondering if it's time to try something different myself. I'm indecisive - not really ready/prepared to say goodbye, just acknowledging that I'm not around much, and I'm unlikely to be around much for awhile. If I want things to be different than they have been, though, I have to do differently than I have done.

Anyhow, I may not make it back for awhile. In the meantime, though, I did borrow my son's camera so I could snap a few photos as I've been traveling around. I thought I'd post a few of them here, so my friends would know where I've been.

Pony Express Trail Road (note the good quality of the road, Arch).

Boulder Mountain (actually a plateau - up the side, then on top).

Vacation with the kids [the fire dancers (from the Illuminares festival) were taken by a friend with a better camera].

See ya' around.

I wondered where you'd gone. I'd been thinking of getting out of the blogging business myself, but decided that I was enjoying it too much--I'm thinking of it less as a waste of time, and more as a hobby. I blame you.

Nice pictures. Put up more, and check in from time to time.

Beautiful photographs--I never thought anything would inspire me with a desire to see Utah. And the Vancouver ones made me nostalgic.

There comes a time and tide in the affairs of men (and, presumably, women)...

Hey TK,

Well, I hope you check in. I enjoy reading you.

1. Please don't stop blogging. If it's too much, just do it less often. Like Archaeo says...think hobby.

2. ThyGoddess no longer approves of me. (she removed my link, waaaa.)

3. Beautiful photos.

Hi Arch! I will, and I will. Yeah, I did encourage you to pick a fight with this tarbaby, didn't I? Ah well - Mea Maxima Culpa. Come by Utah, and I'll make it up to you.

Karen - these are nothing, really. Utah has some breathtaking places. The top of Boulder Mountain is unique, though (a high desert wetland?), and few people ever see it. It was fun to post. I just wish the weather had been better that day.

August - I'll stop by.

Catnipping: Lots of people have removed my links. Actually, I was a downright unpopular person in certain quarters there for awhile. I dunno why ThyGoddess would remove your link, though. But I'm beyond guessing why people do some of the things they do.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do, really - it seems too obvious to state, though, that when things are clearly not working, it's time to try something different. I'll be around, I imagine. I'm just trying to get my life in a more workable balance.

Thanks for the well wishes.

Lovely pics.

What part of "the end" was cryptic? The "the" or the "end"? :)

I am spent, I have nothing to say, no opinions, no feelings...nothing.
Blogging is highly overrated.

1. I understand nostalgia. Next to frustration, it's my primary engine. Wish I had better ones.

2. Nice pix. I still don't want to go back to Utah, so lonely and brown and fucking ancient.

3. Blogging. Beats collecting figurines. Glad you're not quitting Arch, and sorry (if) you are, TK. Better to be controversial than agreable, trust me.

4. Goddess, so sorry to hear it. I'd be thrilled if you still lurked.

5. Cat, you're the pleasant surprise of the year.
